Kurt Sung was most recently the Chief Financial Officer for the United Federation of Teachers, the largest educator union in the country and the Chief financial Officer for the Fund for Public Schools, the exclusive non-profit arm of the Department of Education of New York City for K-12 innovations. Prior to his non-profit education role, Kurt had a twenty-year career with CBS in the areas of corporate finance, capital planning, broadcast operations, program syndication and affiliate relations. In between, Kurt has also been a consultant and advisor to the American Sportscasters Association, Showtime, Upwardly Global and Asia Contemporary Art Week and Consortium.
Kurt is a collector of contemporary art and recognizes that it is a privilege to befriend artists and to appreciate their talent, passion, and the many challenges of art practice. Stylistically, Kurt gravitates toward post-war American contemporary and welcomes the opportunities to engage with artist communities internationally, in particular Chinese contemporary with its recent developments and extension to traditional Chinese art. Along with the founder and other board members, Kurt shares the urgency in addressing artist legacy planning.
